War work

For civilian work as part of a war effort. For the effect of war on industrial and commerical activity search under the subdivision --ECONOMIC & INDUSTRIAL ASPECTS or by ethnic, racial, regional groups, and classes of persons subdivisions used with names of specific wars (Appendix C). The subdivision --WAR used with the names of ethnic, racial and regional groups, and with classes of persons (Appendix A) is used only when the war cannot be identified.
