Memorial photographs

Photographs that commemorate a deceased person or pet who is represented in the photograph while still alive. Photographs may be accompanied by vital statistics or verse, and may be framed by a black border; sometimes mounted on tombstones. Includes the rare cases of morteotypes, which are daguerreotypes attached to gravestones.
