Items that are considerably smaller than the standard or usual size, especially objects that are accurate scale models of the original and intended as toys or collectibles. Miniatures are often manufactured at standard scales, for example, doll house furniture is often 1:12 scale and model trains may be 1:87 (HO) and 1:48 (O guage) scale.
