Use for the lateral flat parts on either side of a hinged joint, as on diptychs, door hinges, folding doors, and table tops; by extension, for tables, may also be used for similar but removable components, whether originally hinged or separate. For the lateral components of polyptychs specifically, prefer "panels (wood)" (ALT of "panel (wood)").
