teak

Wood of the tree belonging to the genus Tectona grandis, native to Burma, Thailand and Java. It ranges in color from golden brown to deeper brown with almost black markings, and has a slight leathery scent. Teak is prized for ship-building, joinery and as a veneer for furnishings.
