Temporarily-assembled groups of people selected according to law and sworn to decide upon matters of fact and to declare the truth on the basis of the evidence presented before them in a court of law. Citizens of a nation have the duty to present themselves, when asked, for service on a common jury in the legal jurisdiction of their residence, or to show sufficient reason to be excused.
