Overview
Paper coated with a substance that may be imprinted on a surface by the application of pressure, moisture, or heat and pressure; it often has a backing of glassine paper. Transfer paper can be improvised by rubbing tracing paper or other thin paper with a soft pencil or chalk or by dusting it with a pigment, depending on the nature of the surface to be imprinted. The term also refers to special papers used in the process of transfer lithography.
