pūmotomoto

A type of traditional flute with an angled notch at the top played specifically to unborn children to impart knowledge and wisdom. Traditionally, the pūmotomoto was an opening in the roof of the meeting house, usually near the door. Another meaning is the fontanelle of the unborn child.
