Rode up to Sonoma + pulled foxgloves - a missed patch in 100 aca[re] p[addock] + "1st + 2nd burns" in Leighton p. (3 1/4 hrs). Stoped by torrentical rain + returned home wet. Creeks draining Arapaepae Range, especially those on eastern side, in bounding flood. Put the hoggets + rams

in far 42 into woolshed. Received from the NZ Institute my two recent papers on physiography of Horowhenua. Dr Cotton used his influence to suppress my paper criticizing his paper on this district - there can be no doubt of this - even the "referees" report shows Cotton's influence.
