Overview
Sat. Nov. 16
Lovely fine day. Father, Clif + I rode up to Sonoma + mustered ewes lambs + hoggets into sheep-yards. Docked 65 more lambs, making 352 to date = 92%. Drafted out 69 hoggets, 1 cull hogget + 11 dry ewes + took them + the 13 rams down to far 42 p. at Woodside. The breeding ewes mustered numbered 365 = 24 short; also 15 hoggets short. A very successful day except for the missing sheep. Drove to Levin to shop in evening. Read "Lord John in America", by CN + AM Williamson - rather twaddle.
