Recognition:
- short, ‘skeletonised’ pinnae occur near the base of the frond stalks, with a significant length separating them from the pinnae higher up.
- the fertile pinnae are distinctly smaller than the sterile pinnae.
Distribution: in Fiji, common in lowland forests and extending to at least mid altitudes. Also occurs in eastern New Guinea.
