Overview
This is an elegantly designed woman's linen day dress by the significant New Zealand fashion designer Emma Knuckey.
Knuckey trained in tailoring in London in 1949 before returning to New Zealand to set up her own salon. She acquired a good reputation nationally for her elegant, well-tailored fashions which were sold through her salon and quality outlets throughout New Zealand during the 1960s and 1970s. In the 1963 summer edition of Vogue New Zealand, she was named one of the top five haute couture designers in New Zealand.
