Overview
This brightly coloured woollen jacket was bought by a South Island stock agent, but he decided it was a bit too 'loud' for the local farmers. These colours do differ from the traditional colour schemes of olive green or khaki, red-and-black or blue-and-black checks.
This style of jacket is known as a 'Swanndri' which is actually the trademark name for the iconic checked woollen jackets worn by many New Zealanders, particularly rural and manual workers, since 1913.
