Overview
The Order of St Michael and St George was founded in 1818 by the prince regent, later George IV. The decoration is awarded to men and women who contribute extraordinary services to a foreign country. The motto of the order is “Auspicium melioris ævi” which translates to “token for a better age.”
Michael Myers
Sir Michael Myers was a prominent lawyer in the first half of the twentieth century. He became Chief Justice of the Supreme Court in 1929, and served on the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council in 1931. He was made a Knight Commander of the Order in 1930, and was then upgraded to Knight Grand Cross in 1937.
