Overview
Fazzoletto vases get their name from their shape, which resembles an inverted, draped handkerchief.
After World War II, these vases made by Italy’s Venini glass factory were in high demand throughout Italy and beyond.
The Fazzoletto form spawned many imitations – but this vase is genuine. Walter Cook found it in a small antiques shop in Thorndon during the 1980s. Owners Lynette Halliday and David Owens dealt almost exclusively with 20th-century designs.
