Overview
One of a pair of stained glass windows, this window depicts a female huia (long curved beak).
A central oval panel includes a female huia standing on a tree branch (clematis?). Surrounding this are panels of stained glass in shades of reds, green and yellow. There are various losses to the glass. The window frames are painted white.
The depiction of the birds is derived from the image by J. Keulemans, "The Huia (Heteralocha acutirostris)" published in Buller's "Birds of New Zealand" (vol 1), plate ii, 1888.
