Decorative Tie Clasp

Example of a Boys Brigade decorative tie clasp (clip). Silver coloured metal badge made of silver plate with red enamel. The clip consists of a flat silver bar with a circular silver 'face' attached to it. The circular 'face' has a textured background with an anchor with a 'B' on the left side and a 'B' on the right side of it and a red-cross style red enamel cross behind it. The anchor has 'SURE' on the cross bar at the top under the loop that links to the anchor chain and '& /STEDFAST' on the bottom hooked bar of the anchor itself. The flat silver bar has a silver coloured metal u-shape extending on a diagonal angle backwards at one end. To this a silver coloured metal spring and a silver coloured metal bar with a serrated inner edge is attached. The serrated bar fits snugly against the back of the front silver bar forming a clip. The spring allows the attached bar to open and close.
