Overview
According to family records this hei tiki was collected by H. Burrell while in New Zealand during the 'British confrontation', presumably the New Zealand Wars of the 1860's. It was subsequently passed on to Burrell's brother-in-law, Martin E. Jull, the first Public Service Commissioner in Western Australia.
