Overview
Given the narrow channel, this dragon boat race is almost certainly at Aberdeen. Brian Brake framed the scene with the hulls and masts of fishing trawlers. The photo must be from the early to mid-1970s, as by then most fishing junks had been replaced by Western style trawlers. Dragon boat racing was then the boat people’s custom – not a "sport".
從照片中的小海峽看來，幾乎可以肯定這場龍舟賽事的地點是香港仔。Brake 以拖網漁船的船身及船桅作構圖襯框，拍攝時間必定是 1970 年代初至中期，皆因如照片所示，當時大部分中式漁船已被 西式拖網漁船取代。當年的龍舟賽事並非體育運動，而是水上人的風俗盛會。
