Overview
This view into a laundry features Ng Kew (1905-1983) when he was ironing customers’ laundry at Chan Foon and Co, 5 Majoribanks Street, Mt Victoria, Wellington. Behind him are dozens of packages containing customers’ laundry.
Ng Kew and his wife Ng Moy She owned Chan Foon from 1946. It was the last operating Chinese laundry in Wellington when it closed in 1981.
