This service revolver (Webley Mk III. Calibre .455) was given to Lance Corporal Thomas Stimpson Winter (service number 10/2042) while he was recovering in England from a gun shot wound he received during the assault on Chunuk Bair on Gallipoli. It is said to be a replacement for the one he lost during this operation.
