Overview
This kauri (native New Zealand tree: Agathis australis) wine or occasional table is decorated with marquetry work in other indigenous timbers: kohekohe (cedar: Dysoxylum spectabile), karaka (Corynocarpus laevigatus), kāmahi (Weinmannia racemosa), tōtara (Podocarpus totara), pūriri (Vitex lucens), rātā (Metrosideros robusta), and rewarewa (New Zealand honeysuckle: Knightsia excelsa). Its central motif is a Star of David within a hexagonal shape. This motif is within a larger Star of David and is bordered by a hexagonal band of parquetry. The top of the table stands on a detachable support that has three legs and a circular inlaid vase shelf.
