Overview
These fake bank notes were commissioned by the New Zealand Seafarers' Union in 1993 to encourage New Zealanders to vote for Labour in the upcoming elections.
Dave Kent designed and illustrated the notes, and they were printed by the Wellington Media Collective. The $31 note featuring Prime Minister Jim Bolger was based on the new $20 note at that time which featured Queen Elizabeth II.
