Textile swatchbook

Swatchbook containing samples of wool and silks in a variety of colours and designs (mainly floral), including some Art Nouveau, pasted onto paper pages. Book comprises 110 pages, bound together in six sheafs. Hard board cover/spine, quarter vellum. Cover has brown/black mottled pattern and an adhesive label inscribed "Fabrique de Registres" . According to auction catalogue, it is a "Claude Freres Pattern Book"; the spine is inscribed "CLAUDE IMPION" (stencilled) and "0" (in pencil) The fabric samples are anonymous, and may be the work of a number of different designers. The book was part of a reference collection belonging to the Bianchini-Ferier design studio.
