Man's 'demob' suit

This demob suit belonged to Campbell Nicol (born Dumfermline, Scotland 24.12.1919, died Timaru, New Zealand 18.12.1998). He belonged to the Scottish Regiment of the Fife and Forfar Yeomanry Royal Armoured Corps in WWII. He was demobbed in April 1946 and immigrated to New Zealand. He left from Southampton in December 1947 aboard the Atlantis. He left with minimal clothing so his demob suit and overcoat beame his main apparel. He met his futue wife, Laura James, an immigrant nurse, on the Atlantis.
