Overview
Enfield percussion musket, 1841. Calibre .75. This weapon was used by the British Army's 58th Regiment during its service in New Zealand, from 1845 until 1858. .
During the First New Zealand War of 1845-46, the Regiment took part in fighting at Okaihau, Ohaewai and Ruapekapeka in the north, at Boulcott's Farm and Horokiwi near Wellington and at St John's Wood near Wanganui.
