Overview

This walking ensemble consists of a jacket and skirt fashioned from a heavy white and grey striped cotton, lined with cream silk. The jacket has leg-o-mutton sleeves and is trimmed with a light brown silk on the collar, jacket facings and cuffs. The gored skirt has an inverted pleat at the back, and is adorned around the hem with two fabric bands cut on the bias. The bands are finished with a pointed tab and decorative button.

This ensemble is part of the Phyllis Cousin collection, which was gifted to the museum in the 1960s.
