Overview
A woman's full length woven paisley cloak/mantle with feather collar. It is orange, red, green and yellow/gold in colour. It is lined with copper brown coloured textile and there is a copper brown coloured silk pocket, inside proper left. It closes with eight hook and eyes centre front, and with two horizontal bands in the same paisley textile at neck and centre front. These bands each have two metal buttons on either side. This style of band is replicated vertically for the arm openings. There is a button at the top and bottom of each arm opening. The collar is made of fawn and brown coloured feathers. The collar is lined with a very fine check patterned brown silk on the inside and dark brown velvet on the exterior underside. Machine and hand stitched. This cloak is likely re-purposed from a mid-late19th century paisley shawl.
