Overview
This extract originally appeared in New Zealand Photography Collected: 175 Years of Photography in Aotearoa (Te Papa Press, 2025).
This car photographed on an empty Wairarapa road side-on (to get a better angle perhaps) is an American-made K-R-I-T with an acetylene generator on the running board to supply the gas headlamps. The K-R-I-T company only lasted from 1909 to 1916.
