Overview
Frank Hofmann’s New Photography
Light, shadow, perspective, composition – these aspects of photography fascinated Frank Hofmann. In Czechoslovakia, he encountered New Photography – an avant-garde movement that sought ‘modern’ ways of seeing and viewed photography as art. He brought this vision to New Zealand after fleeing his German-occupied homeland.
