Overview
Vallabh Jasvant (1901–1960) was born in Tavdi Village, Navsari District, Gujarat, India. He arrived in Wellington in 1919, and lived in Tory Street, Cuba Street (Petone) and Cuba Street in Wellington.
He was a greengrocer, and with his five cousins managed and ran Cuba Fruit Mart and Ghee's Fruit Shop before 1945.
He married Kesi Gopal Patel (born 2 May 1915). They had two daughters: Lalita Kanji (born 31 January 1938) and Nirmala Patel (born 7 December 1959).
Vallabh died in Wellington on 18 February 1960, a few months after his second daughter was born. His oldest daughter Lalita, who was married and living in Auckland, arranged for her mother and sister to live with her in Auckland.
Kesi Vallabh Jasvant died in Auckland on 30 November 2005.
