Overview
Naran Morar (1918 - 1984) was born in Tavdi village, Navsari, Gujarat, India, on 13 January 1918. He arrived in Wellington, New Zealand, on the SS Zealandia on 25 November 1932.
He lived in Tory Street, Wellington, next to Mount Cook School, and worked selling fruit and vegetables. He was a member of the Wellington Indian Sports Club and the Wellington Indian Association.
His four siblings included his brother, Nathu Morar, and sister, Pali Govan.
Naran and Sukhi Naran Morar were married in 1925 (she was born in Mirjapor, Navsari, Gujarat, India, in 1923). They had five children: Lukhi (F) born 24 June 1939, Javer (M) born 10 July 1947, Ratan (F) born 2 April 1953, Baldev (M) born 2 February 1955, and Bhagvati (F) born 20 July 1956.
Naran died in Wellington on 18 July 1984, and Sukhi died in Wellington on 21 September 1992.
