Overview
Mrs Goodson, a local school teacher, cradling Opo the dolphin in her arms. The following description has been placed on the back of the print, it reads: "The playful female dolphin of Opononi in north New Zealand poses with local schoolteacher friend, Mrs Goodson. After some months in the Hokianga Harbour the dolphin became very tame and took to swimming among bathers who soon christened her 'Opo'. Photograph taken by Eric Lee-Johnson in February, 1956."
