Overview
Positive copper matrix [mounted in brass] for the Public Seal of New Zealand (known as the "Third Seal"). Part of a set of one negative steel die and 3 positive matrices in a fitted box. The iconography represents the emblems of Christianity and Justice, with the Mace, under the Royal Cipher, flanked by two human figures, one a settler wearing municipal robes, the other a Maori chief.
