Overview
Canoe paddle carved with rauponga design on the back of the blade, and carved janus figure at the base of the handle, adjoining the blade, with narrow eyes with red sealing wax. The handle has a rippled finish, a distinctive feature characteristic of pre-European manufacture, with a featureless round knob at the end. This hoe has a dark stained patina.
