The Behemoth Brewing Company and Churly The Behemoth Brewing Company was founded in 2013 by Andrew and Hannah Childs and specialises in craft beers. They began as contract brewers and subsequently formed their own brewery on Dominion Road, Mt Eden, Auckland. Many of the beers that they produce are small-batch, one-offs. Their aim is to ‘create a hospitable community through the enjoyment of craft beer. Beers that are big, on flavour and fun, but also on making people smile or have a laugh with our mascot, Churly, and their varied attire’. Behemoth came to international attention when they released their ‘Dump the Trump’ American IPA in 2016, which was the first of a number of Trump themed beers including ImPEACHment Sour Ale, Collusion American Hopped Russian Imperial Stout and Tiny Hands. Their fun, irreverent and graphic approach to their branding is characteristic of the craft beer movement.
