Overview
Sweat with Pride is a challenge run by the New Zealand AIDS Foundation where participants aim to sweat for at least 21 minutes every day for a month to raise money for Rainbow community projects, particularly those focused around mental health.
Members of Rainbow communities face worse mental and physical health outcomes than their peers: 1 in 5 of Rainbow youth have attempted suicide; gay and bisexual men account for almost 80% of new HIV transmissions in New Zealand; and more than half of Rainbow communities have experienced mental illness (NZAF 2021).
