Overview
This badge was made by staff of Wellington City Libraries to give away at the LGBTQI+ event Out in the Park in Wellington on 22 February 2020. It features the Progress Pride Flag which was created by Daniel Quasar in 2018.
The flag marries the long-standing colours of the rainbow flag (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple) with the trans flag (blue for boys, pink for girls, white for transitioning/neutral gender/no gender/intersex), and with brown and black for marginalised People of Colour. Black also represents those who live with, or who have died from HIV/AIDS. The chevron arrow shape represents moving forward and making progress in the community.
