Overview
This Weetbix Card Album, ‘The Maori Way of Life,’ is one of more than 100 sets of trade cards produced by the Sanitarium Health Food Company since 1941. The album describes aspects of Māori history, food production, social organisation, art, religion, and employment, illustrated by collectible cards. The album was probably produced for a predominantly Pākehā audience, and is an example of the appropriation of Māori culture for advertising and marketing purposes.
