Book, With the All Blacks in Great Britain, France, Canada and Australia, 1924-25

This book, written by Read Masters in 1928, describes the 1924-25 All Blacks rugby tour. The team toured the United Kingdom, Ireland, France and Canada, and won all 32 of its overseas games. Nicknamed ‘The Invincibles,’ the team scored 838 points and conceded only 116. It is still remembered as one of the greatest All Blacks sides of all time, and was inducted into the New Zealand Sports Hall of Fame in 1990.

This copy of Masters’ book belonged to David Gray, a member of the official tour party. Gray was responsible for looking after the coin for the toss and the kiwi mascot that travelled with the team.
