Overview
This postal greatcoat was part of the uniform that was worn by posties across New Zealand between the early 1950s and mid-1960s. This coat would have kept posties warm during the colder winter months, and replaces the earlier blue-black postal uniform which was worn up until the early 1950s.
This coat alludes to the influence that WWII had on the manufacturing of clothing and materials. This coat is simple in its construction, and uses minimal and basic material.
