Overview
This journal includes drawings by Sasha Gibbon. It represents one of the ways Sasha's school encouraged her to connect with and enjoy books and story-telling. Sasha had some difficulty in learning to read at the beginning, but drawing was something she had a talent for and found to be a lot of fun.
This journal is part of a group of objects collected to represent some of the key moments and everyday life of six year old Sasha, who is a participant in Te Papa's Collecting Childhood project. This is an ongoing project that includes children in the University of Auckland's Growing Up in New Zealand research.
