Overview
This plastic money box was made by the National Bank soon after New Zealand trading banks gained governmental approval in October 1964 to each have their own private savings banks.
Money boxes like this example were given to customers, often children, to encourage saving. This one is in the shape of the popular Morris Mini Minor car first launched in Britain in 1959.
