Overview
This plastic money box was made by the Australia and New Zealand Bank Ltd. (ANZ) soon after New Zealand trading banks gained governmental approval in October 1964 to each have their own private savings banks.
Money boxes like this example were given to customers, often children, to encourage saving. The shape of this one evokes a pillar letter box with a slot for coins instead of letters.
