Overview
This plastic money box was made by the Bank of New Zealand soon after New Zealand trading banks gained governmental approval in October 1964 to each have their own private savings banks.
Money boxes like this example were given to customers, often children, to encourage saving. The shape of this one evokes a bag full of coins, and is described as such: 'Your coin bag: Save in the Bank of N.Z. Savings Bank'.
