Overview
This baby bunting, bob-up toy was given to Josephine Mary Thorn when she was a young girl. Josephine was born in 1926 and was given several very special toys that she kept all her life. It is part of a group of soft toys donated to Te Papa in 2015. The set also includes a Chad Valley rag doll and a teddy bear.
Toy manufacturers started making soft toys in the late 19th century. Domestic animals were popular, including various versions of cats, dogs, ducks and rabbits.
