1974 Commonwealth Games Souvenir Tea Towel

This souvenir tea towel was issued by IGA Premier Food Stores on the occasion of the Xth British Commonwealth Games which were held in Christchurch in 1974. The tea towel features a globe with six figures wearing their country's flag, and the 1974 Commonwealth Games logo on a mid-blue background along with the legend 'Xth British Commonwealth Games 1974 Christchurch, New Zealand'. Most significantly, the tea towel features a border of Gold Medals. Each medal represents a New Zealand Gold Medal win, from 1930 (J. W Savidan - Athletics) to 1970 (B. Biddle - Cycling).
