Paratene Matchitt
This image of Paratene Matchitt is one of a series Ans Westra created documenting the Māori artists of the1960s and their work. Many of her photographs were reproduced in Te Ao Hou (1952–76), the magazine published by the Department of Māori Affairs, which aimed to be a marae (meeting place) on paper for Māori.
