Overview
New Zealand war medal. Circular silver coin attached to silver bar with fern leaf decoration. Bar has blue ribbon with brown stripe down centre attached and top of ribbon is attached to metal pin in shape of a buckle. Coin has relief profile of Queen Victoria on one side, around periphery are words "Victoria D:G: Britt: Reg: F: D:" On the other side is depicted a wreath with the words "New Zealand. Virtutis Honor." Around edge of coin is inscription "Sergt. A.W. Carkeek. A.C."
