Overview
These kowhaiwhai were part of the Te Awhe o Te Rangi house built by Mita Te Rangituakoha of Ngāti Pikiao in 1872 at Maketū Pā. The house was eventually replaced with the new wharenui (meeting house) opening in 1904.
